Revelation 18 vs 9-24

Revelation Chapter 18 Verses 6 - 8
•She says “I won’t see sorrow,” and that is the promise of the passing pleasure of sin…but the truth is that sin is sorrow sustained while righteousness leads to joy…not a passing pleasure but a preserved pleasure. Hebrews 11, the great “hall of faith” chapter, describes sin as passing pleasure…, (Hebrews 11:24-26), “By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin (there it is), esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt; for he looked to the reward.”
•What reward? Honoring God and the reward of heaven in that, sure! But what was ahead for him? The reward was to be greatly used by God! To see God mightily faithful! To be the one and only that was permitted to approach God! To receive the law of God directly from the hand of God… The list goes on and on. Sin promises pleasure and it delivers…but that pleasure is passing pleasure. Pleasure on its death bed…that’s how I think of it…its in the process of passing. But to do good, love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God, Psalm 16:11 says, “You show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore!” In other words, that do not fade.
•Let me say it like this, today’s pain in the place of sin, is tomorrow’s power! Here’s the principle…pleasure in the moment but sustained sorrow…sin. Sorrow in the moment but sustained power and pleasure…righteousness. Don’t get fooled and have your joy stolen, killed and destroyed!! That’s the desire of the enemy and his tool to do it is sin in your life!
Revelation Chapter 18 Verses 9 – 13
•See passing of the pleasure? “I need no grace and I won’t see sorrow.” Next verse, she’s burning!!!
•And check this out, weeping and lamenting (or passionately expressing grief), standing afar off full of fear and why? Why so upset? They weep for themselves! Did you see that in verse 11? No one wants their junk anymore…notice how none of the items listed are necessities? They’re all luxuries…materialism, junk. Such is the fate of one living for themself. Eventually, no one’s going to want to deal with their junk anymore and they will weep…not in humility or repentance…but for themselves. Loss upon loss…
Revelation Chapter 18 Verses 14
•That’s an interesting and important consideration to understand. That you and I, all of us saved and unsaved, have a longing, a need, that we can try to fill with all sorts of things but nothing, absolutely nothing, can satisfy it except what we are actually longing for…and that is fruit. Galatians 5:22 says that the fruit of the Spirit is love. And underneath every bit of anguish seated in the soul of any person is simply the need and longing for love…
•Now, here’s the second layer of that consideration. What is behind that “love.” 1 John 4:7-8 says, “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.” This longing that each one of us have and that each person wrestles with looking and hunting and searching for what will satisfy… (we call that finding the meaning of life, or finding your calling, or finding yourself), that longing is actually for and only fulfilled by and through knowing God!
•The only One who can satisfy the human heart is the One who made it. The fast you figure that out, the less damage you’re going to do to your mind, your life, your self-esteem, your self-image, and to others… If you do not have a living relationship with God, your Creator, through the Person of Jesus Christ, then there is nothing you can buy to make you content. There is no earthly relationship that will satisfy your soul. There is no promotion, no amount of money, no thing, place, person of circumstance that is going to make you happy. You long for love and that love is the love of knowing and being with your Creator.
•Now, next layer…just knowing God is a hard sell…you can know me and we may have really not much in common and share very little life together, so understand that by knowing God, what that means is to come to Him, to place Him in the position of God in your heart, mind and life (we call that surrender) and then to experience and walk in and through the things of God in your life!
•1 John 4:7 (NLT), “Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God…” That longing you and I each have that really is an underlying motivation even for sin as folks search for what it is that satisfies…that longing is actually for God. And not just for the truth of God but the relationship and the personal life and walk with God….and the things of God in your life! You see, to know God you also know His ways and His heart…and when you are close like that with God…that’s the answer to the longing…and now, all that you get and have, does satisfy because you’re already satisfied and now those things, persons, places and circumstance you get and you actually get to enjoy with peace and gratefulness…! This is what Jesus was talking about in John 10:10!
•Here’s what holds folks back… First, you simply don’t know what the need is, where it came from and what satisfies. Now you do. The second thing that holds folks back is fear…fear of the unknown, fear of rejection, fear of going all in and then what…what if He isn’t faithful? Let me tell you, He is… Someone once said, “You’re afraid of surrender because you don’t want to lose control. But you never had control. All you had was anxiety!”
•Figure this out before you go your whole life and miss the meaning of it all…it says here in the end of verse 14, “You shall find them no more at all.” The enemy’s strategy against you is to distract you long enough that you do so much to yourself and your life that you consider yourself a lost cause and settle for so much less than what God has for you. You are NEVER a lost cause! Don’t swallow that lie!
Revelation Chapter 18 Verses 15 – 20
•The voice from heaven ceases and the centrality of the message…you wasted your time folks. It’s all burning now. All the trinkets. All the tokens. All the totality of the legal tender, what’s it all worth now? All of the false gods, fallen. All of the worshippers of the great harlot…weeping but notice the reaction of heaven…great rejoicing!
•The Bible says that Godliness with contentment is great gain (1 Timothy 6) and that if there is first a willing mind, it is accepted according to what one has, and not according to what he does not have (2 Cor 8)…and in one collaborative voice the world says we’ll get to that…the intention is almost always there…to just love your wife, to just appreciate your husband, to invest in your kids, to serve others and to calm down…but the self centered sensation of “there’s still time” blinds us to just how far we’re drifting.
•You ever wake up at 1 AM and go get some water or go check the lock on the front door…and it just seems like you could just stay up? Like you’re not dragging but rather you’re very awake and you think, “Well I have more time,” and then you go back to bed and wake up at your normal time, you know when you have to wake up and what do you say? “Nooooooo! Just. So. Tired!” Why? Because you know you’re out of time…and it just weighs on you. The reality of work, of school, of chores…of what you need to do…sets in and all of the sudden the energy of “more time” that you had at 1 AM is gone…
•It’s the same spiritually. When we feel like we have more time…we go back to sleep but the reality of the realm of the spirit is that there is never more time! This second counts. This breath impacts eternity. It either builds Babylon in your brain or heaven in your heart…but so many just want to peddle their junk and they’ll clean up later…later never comes…the whole idea of later is continual delay! And what’s in store for them is weeping, lamenting, standing afar off and full of fear because “later” is the mantra, dissatisfaction is the fuel and all along the flesh has promised pleasure…leading folks directly into loss! (We call this blindness…)
Revelation Chapter 18 Verses 21 – 24
•Anymore, anymore, anymore…six times the mighty angel says you will not continue anymore…six, the number of man…the number of imperfection…the number representing the one who looks to self for sufficiency…but it wasn’t always that way…six is also the number of days in which God created and He looked upon His creation and indeed it was very good. What has happened? Simple, the enemy has deceived you into giving up and settling into a life where “longing” is normal…no it’s not.
•And this world is out of time. God is on the very brink of restoring the goodness of the number…destroying the spiritual great harlot once and for all, destroying the physical great harlot once and for all and ultimately restoring creation to the splendor of the sixth day… Do you know that today, through Jesus Christ, God looks at you as fully restored already? I want to encourage you to agree with Him today, by faith…and find power in my tomorrows.


Apocalipsis Capítulo 18 Versículos 6 - 8
· Ella dice: "No veré la tristeza", y esa es la promesa del placer pasajero del pecado ... pero la verdad es que el pecado es una tristeza sostenida mientras que la justicia conduce al gozo ... no un placer pasajero sino un placer preservado. Hebreos 11, el gran capítulo del “salón de la fe”, describe el pecado como un placer pasajero…, (Hebreos 11: 24-26), “Por la fe Moisés, cuando alcanzó la mayoría de edad, rehusó ser llamado hijo de la hija de Faraón, eligiendo más bien sufrir aflicción con el pueblo de Dios que gozar de los placeres pasajeros del pecado (ahí está), estimando el oprobio de Cristo más riquezas que los tesoros de Egipto; porque esperaba la recompensa ".
· ¿Qué recompensa? Honrando a Dios y la recompensa del cielo en eso, ¡seguro! Pero, ¿qué le esperaba? ¡La recompensa era ser usado grandemente por Dios! ¡Ver a Dios poderosamente fiel! ¡Ser el único al que se le permitió acercarse a Dios! Recibir la ley de Dios directamente de la mano de Dios… La lista sigue y sigue. El pecado promete placer y entrega ... pero ese placer es un placer pasajero. Placer en su lecho de muerte ... así es como lo pienso ... está en proceso de morir. Pero para hacer el bien, amar la misericordia y caminar humildemente con tu Dios, el Salmo 16:11 dice: “Muéstrame el camino de la vida; en tu presencia hay plenitud de gozo; delicias a tu diestra para siempre! " En otras palabras, eso no se desvanece.
· Permítanme decirlo así, ¡el dolor de hoy en lugar del pecado, es el poder de mañana! Aquí está el principio ... placer en el momento pero dolor sostenido ... pecado. Dolor en el momento pero poder y placer sostenidos… justicia. ¡No te dejes engañar y te roben, maten y destruyan tu alegría! ¡Ese es el deseo del enemigo y su herramienta para hacerlo es pecado en tu vida!
Apocalipsis Capítulo 18 Versículos 9-13
· ¿Ves pasar el placer? "No necesito gracia y no veré tristeza". ¡¡¡Próximo verso, ella está ardiendo !!!
· Y mira esto, llorando y lamentándose (o expresando apasionadamente el dolor), estando lejos lleno de miedo y ¿por qué? ¿Por qué tan molesto? ¡Lloran por sí mismos! ¿Viste eso en el versículo 11? Ya nadie quiere su basura ... ¿se da cuenta de que ninguno de los artículos enumerados es necesario? Son todos lujos ...
materialismo, basura. Ese es el destino de quien vive para sí mismo. Eventualmente, nadie querrá lidiar más con su basura y llorarán ... no en humildad o arrepentimiento ... sino por sí mismos. Pérdida sobre pérdida ...
Apocalipsis Capítulo 18 Versículos 14
· Esa es una consideración interesante e importante de entender. Que tú y yo, todos salvos y no salvos, tenemos un anhelo, una necesidad, que podemos intentar llenar con todo tipo de cosas, pero nada, absolutamente nada, puede satisfacerlo excepto lo que realmente anhelamos ... y eso es Fruta. Gálatas 5:22 dice que el fruto del Espíritu es amor. Y debajo de cada pizca de angustia asentada en el alma de cualquier persona está simplemente la necesidad y el anhelo de amor ...
· Ahora, aquí está la segunda capa de esa consideración. ¿Qué hay detrás de ese "amor"? 1 Juan 4: 7-8 dice: “Amados, amémonos unos a otros, porque el amor es de Dios; y todo el que ama es nacido de Dios y conoce a Dios. El que no ama no conoce a Dios, porque Dios es amor”. Este anhelo que cada uno de nosotros tiene y que cada uno lucha con buscar y cazar y buscar lo que satisface ... (a eso lo llamamos encontrar el sentido de la vida, o encontrar tu vocación, o encontrarte a ti mismo), ¡ese anhelo es en realidad para y sólo cumplido por y a través de conocer a Dios!
· El único que puede satisfacer el corazón humano es el que lo hizo. Cuanto más rápido lo averigües, menor será el daño que le hagas a tu mente, a tu vida, a tu autoestima, a tu propia imagen y a los demás ... Si no tienes una relación viva con Dios, tu Creador, a través de la Persona de Jesucristo, entonces no hay nada que puedas comprar para hacerte feliz. No existe una relación terrenal que satisfaga tu alma. No hay promoción, ninguna cantidad de dinero, ninguna cosa, lugar, persona o circunstancia que te haga feliz. Anhelas el amor y ese amor es el amor de conocer y estar con tu Creador.
· Ahora, la siguiente capa ... simplemente saber que Dios es difícil de vender ... puedes conocerme y es posible que no tengamos mucho en común y compartamos muy poca vida juntos, así que entiende que al conocer a Dios, lo que eso significa es venir a Él, ponerlo en la posición de Dios en tu corazón, mente y vida (a eso lo llamamos entrega, rendirse ante El) y luego experimentar y caminar en y a través de las cosas de Dios en tu vida.
· 1 Juan 4: 7 (NTV), “Queridos amigos, sigamos amándonos unos a otros, porque el amor viene de Dios…” Ese anhelo que tú y yo tenemos es una motivación subyacente incluso para el pecado cuando la gente busca lo que es lo que satisface ... ese anhelo es en realidad por Dios. Y no solo por la verdad de Dios, sino por la relación y la vida personal y caminar con Dios… ¡y las cosas de Dios en tu vida! Verás, para conocer a Dios también conoces Sus caminos y Su corazón ... y cuando estás tan cerca de Dios ... esa es la respuesta al anhelo ... y ahora, todo lo que obtienes y tienes, satisface porque ya estás satisfecho. y ahora esas cosas, personas, lugares y circunstancias las obtienes y realmente disfrutas con paz y agradecimiento…! ¡Esto es de lo que Jesús estaba hablando en Juan 10:10!
· Esto es lo que frena a la gente ... Primero, simplemente no sabe cuál es la necesidad, de dónde viene y qué satisface. Ahora ya lo sabes. La segunda cosa que detiene a la gente es el miedo ... miedo a lo desconocido, miedo al rechazo, miedo a ir con todo y luego qué ... ¿y si no es fiel? Déjame decirte, Él, Dios es ... Alguien dijo una vez: "Tienes miedo de rendirte porque no quieres perder el control. Pero nunca tuviste el control. ¡Todo lo que tenías era ansiedad! "
· Resuelve esto antes de pasar toda tu vida y perderte el significado de todo ... aquí dice al final del versículo 14: "No los encontrarás más". La estrategia del enemigo en tu contra es distraerte el tiempo suficiente para que te hagas tanto a ti mismo y a tu vida que te consideres una causa perdida y te conformes con mucho menos de lo que Dios tiene para ti. ¡NUNCA eres una causa perdida! ¡No te tragues esa mentira!
Apocalipsis Capítulo 18 Versículos 15-20
· La voz del cielo cesa y la centralidad del mensaje… ustedes han perdido el tiempo, amigos. Todo está ardiendo ahora. Todas las baratijas. Todas las fichas. Toda la totalidad de la moneda de curso legal, ¿cuánto vale todo ahora? Todos los dioses falsos, caídos. Todos los adoradores de la gran ramera… lloran, se lamentan pero noten la reacción del cielo… ¡gran regocijo!
· La Biblia dice que la piedad con contentamiento es gran ganancia (1 Timoteo 6) y que si primero hay una mente dispuesta, se acepta según lo que se tiene, y no según lo que no tiene (2 Cor 8)… y en una voz colaborativa, el mundo dice que llegaremos a eso ... la intención casi siempre está ahí ... simplemente amar a tu esposa, apreciar a tu esposo, invertir en tus hijos, servir a los demás y calmarte ... pero La sensación egocéntrica de “todavía hay tiempo” nos ciega para ver cuán lejos estamos a la deriva.
· ¿Alguna vez se despierta a la 1 de la madrugada y va a buscar un poco de agua o revisa la cerradura de la puerta principal ... y parece que podrías quedarte despierto? No Como si te estuvieras arrastrando, sino que estás muy despierto y piensas: "Bueno, tengo más tiempo", y luego vuelves a la cama y te despiertas a tu hora normal, sabes cuándo tienes que despertarte y qué ¿tú dices? “¡Nooooooo! ¡Solo, Entonces , tan Cansado!" ¿Por qué? Porque tú sabes se te acaba el tiempo ... y eso te pesa. La realidad del trabajo, de la escuela, de las tareas domésticas ... de lo que tienes que hacer ... se establece y de repente la energía de "más tiempo" que tenías a la 1 de la madrugada se ha ido ...
· Es lo mismo espiritualmente. Cuando sentimos que tenemos más tiempo ... nos volvemos a dormir, pero la realidad del reino del espíritu es que ¡nunca hay más tiempo! Este segundo cuenta. Este aliento impacta la eternidad. O construye Babilonia en tu cerebro o el cielo en tu corazón ... pero muchos solo quieren pedalear su basura y limpiarán más tarde ... más tarde nunca llega ... ¡la idea de más tarde es un retraso continuo! Y lo que les espera es llorar, lamentarse, permanecer lejos y llenos de miedo porque "más tarde" es el mantra, la insatisfacción es el combustible y todo el tiempo la carne ha prometido placer ... ¡llevando a la gente directamente a la pérdida! (A esto lo llamamos ceguera ...)
Apocalipsis Capítulo 18 Versículos 21-24
· No Más, no más, no más ... seis veces el ángel poderoso dice que no continuarás más ... seis, el número de hombre ... el número de imperfección ... el número que representa al que busca la autosuficiencia ... pero no siempre fue de esa manera ... seis es también el número de días en los que Dios creó y miró a Su creación y de hecho fue muy bueno. ¿Lo que ha sucedido? Simple, el enemigo te ha engañado para que te rindas y te instales en una vida donde el "anhelar" es normal ... no, no lo es.
· Y este mundo está fuera de tiempo. Dios está a punto de restaurar la bondad del número ... destruir a la gran ramera espiritual de una vez por todas, destruir a la gran ramera física de una vez por todas y finalmente restaurar la creación al esplendor del sexto día ... ¿Sabes que hoy, a través de Jesucristo, Dios te ve
como completamente restaurado ya? Quiero animarte a estar de acuerdo con Él hoy, por fe… y encontrar poder en mis mañanas.
