2 Corinthians 9 vs 1-15

2 Corinthians Chapter 9 Verses 1 – 2
•I just want to make the somewhat obvious and yet important point that our willingness and zeal can be, and often are, a great encouragement to others even to the point of stirring others to action. Zeal isn’t a word we use very often and it simply means great energy, or great positive enthusiasm. Can I just say today that what the world needs now, is love! And love without zeal is boring, stale, unattractive, uninviting, unengaging and it just stinks!
•We are called to love God and love each other. That is the fulfillment of the whole law and all that God has asked of us! It’s really what every human SHOULD do, and how much more every Christian! But there are far too many folks that love without willingness and zeal and far too few folks that do, especially in the church. I want you to know, to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing and teaching them to observe all things Jesus…that is stirring others to action, and that doesn’t happen without zeal. So, love, evangelism, care for others and obedience to the simplicity of what God has called us to do cannot happen if you aren’t willing to be a positive, others-centered loving person.
•That’s really the thing about enthusiasm. You say, “Well I’m just not an enthusiastic person.” HA! Deliver the suitcase of cash! Award the promotion! Drop off the new boat! Inherit the million-dollar mansion! Oh, there’s one out there for you too! You’re just not enthusiastic about loving God and loving others! Look enthusiasm is all about your fellow man… Romans 13:14 says, “Put on the Lord Jesus Christ…make no provision for the flesh.” And Galatians 3:27 says, “For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ!” So, this is the duty of all Christians whether it’s natural for us or not, whether we like it all the time or not, that we are to serve others over serving ourselves. So, lighten up buttercup!
2 Corinthians Chapter 9 Verses 3 – 5
•The church in Corinth had committed to supporting the church in Jerusalem (which was in dire straits) and yet it appears they had not delivered yet on that commitment so Paul, not wanting to be about money at all when he arrived, sent folks ahead of him to take care of all that. It’s the pits to be preoccupied with money especially in ministry. It’s a huge hindrance and Paul wants nothing to do with it. Emphasis on the message, not on the money!! Emphasis on the Gospel, not on the gold!
2 Corinthians Chapter 9 Verses 6 – 9
•This, what we just read, is just simply a spiritual law. And it’s not only about money…and it’s not about giving money to get money. We talked about it before in past studies…the greatest benefit of giving is not getting…the greatest benefit of giving is GIVING! How it releases you man for freedom’s sake…loosens your grip if you will so that you live a bit more like the Lord would have us to be…more like Him.
•Love sparingly in your marriage, give sparingly of your effort at work, serve sparingly in your church, shoot…maintain your car sparingly…all of this is true…you get out what you put in…I have a whole sermon on this that I taught when I was guest speaking at another church! This is simply a spiritual law…
•Just like gravity, just like electricity are physical laws…I don’t fully grasp really how they work but nevertheless, I don’t stick my finger in sockets and I don’t attempt to defy gravity! Just like that, I believe Acts 20:35 over my own complete understanding, that it is “More blessed to give than to receive.”
•And so here is what we are to find out…to worship God in how we live and how we live is how we give…and according to this scripture…it’s heart work. How you live and how you give is the revelation of your heart of hearts…and how God loves a cheerful giver because that is a person after God’s own heart!
•Here’s what I know. And here is how I lead my heart, my family and my church…God does not desire a gift to be given to Him begrudgingly and He’s not into pressuring. We are not to guilt or pressure people into giving…we are to invite…the only gift God will receive comes by way of love…and so we preach the Gospel and as people respond, as people grow in faith and relationship with Jesus Christ, we know that He will teach each person a heart of giving. Impossible not to…
2 Corinthians Chapter 9 Verses 10 – 11
•This is the heart of giving. This is the benefit of giving. Your heart becomes flooded with gratitude and enriched in liberality…freedom! It’s odd! Other-worldly! Super natural! That as you love and give you enrich and flourish in the inner man! It’s amazing! How can you ensure the things of this world, you have them and yet they don’t have you? Become a cheerful giver and listen…if you’re not, giving is not a cheerful thing for you…then you’re not giving at all…what you’re doing is lending…supposing to make God your debtor…and God is a debtor to no man.
2 Corinthians Chapter 9 Verses 12 – 15
•Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift…indescribable, unspeakable, not fully expoundable…what gift? Well first, for the gift that He has given. Eternal life for the taking because of the blood and love of Jesus Christ!
•And also, thanks be to God for His indescribable gift of giving! Because it is beyond fallen-state human comprehension. It’s something for you to find out by faith and I so hope you do…this is just a glimpse of one example…the church in Corinth steps forward and pledges to help the poor in Jerusalem…give them some money out of their excess…and that money, that gift causes thanksgiving to God to abound, proof of the ministry to be present, positive confession of the Gospel of Christ and exceeding affection, love and longing for their fellow man…how can giving a little bit of money do all that? Well the secret is, it’s really not about the money at all….a secret that the woman with the two mites knew…more alive and free than any of the Jewish religious elite…a secret of God’s character revealed in the strength of Jesus as He carried His own cross…a secret of abounding life and grace that God invites us all to go, do something about it…and find out.


2 Corintios Capitulo 9 Versos 1-2
•Solo quiero hacer obvio y también muy importante punto, que nuestro disponibilidad y celo puede ser, y a menudo son, una gran motivación para otros hasta el punto de causar a otros a la acción. Celo no es una palabra que usamos muy a menudo y simplemente significa gran energía o gran entusiasmo positivo. ¡Podría decirles ahora que el mundo ahora necesita amor! Y amor sin celo es, aburrido y simple, no atractivo, no invita a nada,
no se involucra, realmente apesta!
•Hemos sido llamados a amar a Dios y Amar a otros. Y ese es el cumplimiento de toda la ley y todo lo que Dios nos ha pedido. ¡Y ese es el cumplimiento que todo humano DEBE hacer, y más aún todo cristiano!
Pero hay demasiadas personas sin la disponibilidad y celo, y muy pocas personas que lo hacen, especialmente en la Iglesia. Quiero que sepan que ir y hacer discípulos de todas las naciones, bautizándolos y enseñándolos a observar todas las cosas de Jesús… eso es movilizar a otros en acción y eso no sucede sin celo. Entonces, amor, evangelismo, preocuparse por otros, y obediencia a la simplicidad de lo que Dios nos ha llamado a ser, no puede suceder si tu un estas dispuesto a ser una persona positiva en centrado en amar a otros.
•Y esa es la cosa a cerca de el entusiasmo. Dice uno, “bueno no soy una persona muy entusiasta.” ¡HA! ¡Entrega el portafolio de dinero! Premios y promociones. ¡Despacha el bote nuevo! ¡Hereda la mansión de un millón de dólares! ¡O y hay una más para ustedes también! ¡Simplemente no tienes entusiasmo para amar a Dios y amar a otros! Mira entusiasmo tan solo se trata de tu compañero… Más bien, vístanse del Señor Jesucristo y no hagan provisión para satisfacer los malos deseos de la carne. Y Gálatas 3:27 dice, porque todos los que fueron bautizados en Cristo se han revestido de Cristo. De tal modo que esto es la responsabilidad de un Cristiano si es natural para nosotros o no, si nos guste todo el tiempo o no, que debemos servir a otros sobre nosotros mismos. ¡Así es que aligérate botoncito de oro!

2 Corintios Capitulo 9 Versos 3-5

•La iglesia de Corinto se había comprometido a apoyar a la iglesia de Jerusalem ( la cual estaba en una situación desesperada), y parecía que aún no habían despachado todavía ese compromiso, así que Pablo, no quería tratar nada de dinero que cuando el llegara, entonces envió a personas por delante que tomaran cuidado de eso. Es lo peor estar preocupado por dinero especialmente en el ministerio. Es un gran obstáculo y Pablo no quiere tener nada que ver. ¡¡Enfatizar en el mensaje, no en el dinero!! ¡Enfatizar en el Evangelio, no en el oro!

2 Corintios 9 Versos 6-9
•Esto, lo que acabamos de leer es simplemente una ley espiritual. Y no es solamente a cerca de dinero… y no se trata de dar dinero para obtener dinero. ¡Y hemos hablado de esto en estudios pasados… el gran beneficio de dar es no recibir…y el gran beneficio de dar es DAR! Y como te libera esto por el bien de la libertad…hace que lo sueltes y te permite que vivas un poco mas como Dios desea que seamos… Mas como El.
•Ama con moderación en tu matrimonio, da con moderación en tu esfuerzo del trabajo, sirve con moderación en tu iglesia, en fin… dale a tu auto mantenimiento con moderación… todo esto es verdad… tu recibes lo que inviertes… tengo un sermón completo de esto que ensene cuando fui invitado a otra iglesia. Es esto simplemente una ley espiritual…
•Y esto es lo que encontramos… adorar a Dios en como vivimos y como vivimos es como damos…y de acuerdo con esta escritura… es trabajo del corazón. Como vives y como das, es la revelación de lo profundo de tu corazón…y como ama Dios a un dador gozoso, ¡porque ese es una persona que busca un corazón tal como el de Dios mismo!
•Y aquí esta lo que yo sé. Y así es como yo dirijo mi corazón, mi familia y mi iglesia…Dios no desea que se le dé un regalo a El a disgusto, y EL no va a presionar. No presionamos o hacemos sentir mal a las personas para que den…debemos invitar… y el único regalo que Dios va a recibir es el que se da con amor…y de modo que predicamos el evangelio y conforme la gente responde, conforme la gente crece en fe, y en relación con Cristo Jesús, nosotros sabemos que El le ensenara a cada persona un corazón dadivoso… Es imposible que no lo haga…

2 Corintios 9 Versos 10-11

•Este es el corazón dadivoso. Este es el beneficio de dar. ¡Tu corazón se derrama de agradecimiento y se enriquece con la liberalidad…libertad!
¡Es raro! ¡Otro Mundo! Super Natural! ¡Y eso conforme amas y das, enriqueces y floreces el hombre dentro de ti! ¡Es maravilloso! ¿Como puedes asegurar que tienes las cosas de este mundo…las tienes y aun así ellas no te tienen a ti? Conviértete en un dador alegre y escucha…si tu no estas dando no es algo alegre para ti…entonces no estas dando realmente nada…lo que estas haciendo es prestar…y Dios no es un deudor de ningún hombre.

2 Corintios 9 Versos 12-15

•Gracias a Dios por su regalo indescriptible…indescriptible, que no se puede expresar, y no se puede reemplazar… ¿cuál regalo? Bien, primero por el regalo que El ha dado. ¡Vida Eterna por lo que se dio, por la sangre y el Amor de Cristo Jesús!
•¡Y también, gracias a Dios por Su regalo indescriptible de dar!
Porque es mas allá del entendimiento huma del estado de decadencia. Y es algo que tu tienes que encontrar en la Fe, y espero que lo encuentres…y este es simplemente un destello de un ejemplo…la iglesia en corinto, da un paso hacia delante y promete ayudar a los pobres en Jerusalén…darles dinero de su exceso… y ese dinero, ese regalo causa abundancia de agradecimiento a Dios, prueba de que el Ministerio está presente, confesión positiva del Evangelio de Cristo, un afecto superior, amor y deseo por sus compañeros… ¿y como es que dar tan poquito dinero causa todo esto? Bien, el secreto es, no se trata realmente del dinero para nada…el secreto con el que la mujer de los dos denarios conocía…mas viva y libre que cualquiera de los judíos de la elite religiosa…el secreto del carácter de Dios revelado en la fuerza de Jesús, conforme cargaba Su cruz…un secreto de vida abundante, y gracia que Dios nos invita a todos que vayamos hacer algo al respecto… y descubrir el secreto.
